Our luxury vinyl installation contractors have worked for us for over 20 years. This means that you can count on their expertise to produce quality results. We are a resilient vinyl flooring store that prides itself on customer service. Below, you’ll find a checklist of what you need to do to prepare your house for resilient vinyl installation.
Remove Old Floor
Before our contractors arrive, you’ll need to have made arrangements to have your old floor removed. Our vinyl floor installation contractors are able to do this, although you are also free to hire your own contractor for floor removal. If you want us to remove your old flooring, you’ll need to call us ahead of time so we can make arrangements.
Move Furniture
Before luxury vinyl floor installation can begin, you’ll need to move all your furniture from the room. While you can do this yourself (or bribe family members with pizza), you can also let our contractors do the heavy lifting. Just make sure you call our luxury vinyl plank company beforehand so we can make arrangements. You’ll also want to remove all fragile items from the room.
Measure Door Clearances
Measure door clearances before you have your resilient vinyl floor installed. If the new floor is thicker than your existing floor, you may have difficulty opening and closing doors. Plan in advance to have someone shave or saw the correct amount off the bottom of each door so they don’t drag.
Paint before Installation
Plan on painting, wallpapering, or any other remodeling in the room before your new flooring is installed. Nothing is worse than dripping paint on your new luxury vinyl floors. Painting now means you won’t have to worry about spilling on brand new floors. Keep extra paint to touch up any post-installation nicks.
